Somethings have to be looked at more carefully than others.  In some cases the only way to facilitate this is to have a powerful, crystal clear light source that can assist the observer in detecting previously unseen flaws.  Flaws that could ultimately lead to catastrophic failure, loss of valuable natural and financial resources, as well as the loss of human life.
